RIM BlackBerry OS 6: Review Roundup

For those of you that have been lucky enough to get your hands on a BlackBerry Torch 9800, Research In Motion (RIM) are now enticing us with the introduction of BlackBerry 6, the newest version of its mobile OS and as with all new devices, reviews of the product can at times be varied.

According to Jeff Goldman at BlackBerry.Central, current reviews seem to be positive, especially in relation to the improved faster web browser as well as benefits of the search functions and social feeds. The function of the “Universal Search”, makes it easier to find results on and off your phone. For users, once they have started typing, this feature looks on the phone straight away in the BlackBerry App World in Google and in the apps already on the phone. Fantastic features include the accessibility to get home screen icons in five different categories such as: All, Favorites, Media, Downloads and Frequent. The BlackBerry 6 provides email, call time and BBM as well as different apps.

Reviews from different sources indicate the great new touch screen with pop up menus. If the user is trying to navigate around their full menu, then by touching and holding down on the display, the pop-up menu will automatically link them to the most popular options as well as the full menu. The camera and social feeds app also faired well.
