iPhone 4: Antennagate “Smaller” Than We Anticipated

It was only a short time ago that every time we turned on the computer, we were bombarded with stories of reception antenna problems that users were experiencing on their iPhone 4 devices? At the time, Apple gave away free cases to iPhone 4 owners in the hope that the problem would be rectified. But for now the problems aptly named “Antennagate” have taken a backseat.

According to MG Siegler at TechCrunch, since July, numbers of people have consumed the iPhone 4 despite its problems. Steve Jobs, CEO for Apple, has commented that the return rate for the iPhone 4 was lower than the iPhone 3GS at 1.7%. Today, Apple have issued an statement on their site announcing a formal end on September 30 of the iPhone 4 free cases.

If you haven’t received your iPhone 4 free case yet or applied for one, you need to get your order in fast. The cut off point for this is September 30. Note: Any customers purchasing iPhones sold after this date will need to use the normal returns policy. All details for this are issued on Apple’s website. Also on the site, is information for those who bought their phones before July 23. If this is the case (excuse the pun), then August 22 was the deadline for applying for one, otherwise you had to apply within 30 days of the purchase.
