Stephanie Rice Twitter Slur: Jaguar Drops Sponsorship Deal
Australian swimmer and Olympic gold medalist Stephanie Rice may well have apologized for the homophobic comment she made on her Twitter page recently, but that hasn’t stopped Jaguar from dropping their sponsorship deal with the 22-year old.
As reported by abc.net.au, the luxury car manufacturer made an announcement late on Monday, to say that it was in fact parting ways with Rice. All this is sparked by an offensive comment she tweeted, following the Wallabies’ win over South Africa on Saturday.

Shortly after the game, Rice took to her Twitter page and tweeted a message that read: “Suck on that f***ots.” Although Stephanie deleted the tweet a bit later on, it was too late to stop the angry barrage of responses both in the media and on Twitter.
Kevin Goult – the general manager of Jaguar Australia – announced yesterday that the car maker would not be working with Rice – who drives a Jaguar XF – in the future. In a statement Goult said: “Jaguar Australia today terminated its relationship with Stephanie Rice.”
