Facebook launches Madden NFL

Social media giant Facebook has released Electronic Arts’ Madden NFL Superstars game onto its site from the massively popular Madden franchise. The game was originally on X Box but is now also avaliable for Facebook. This is only EA’s second social game since it acquired social game maker Playfish. Fifa superstars which is the company’s first social game, is one of Facebook’s most used apps with almost 4 million monthly active users.
Ben Parr over on Mashable has written an interesting article and explains how the game is played. Social games, especially on Facebook are on the rise as currently over 50 million Americans are playing them. As Facebook rapidly becomes more popular, so do the apps.

The addictive games that accompany the social media site are making company’s millions. Zynga the creator of popular games such as FarmVille is now worth an estimated $4 billion due to online sales and virtual in game goods. EA has made a clever move combining its most-recognized brands with social gaming and by the look of it Madden Superstars NFL will become an immediate sensation.
