Google TV: Video from Sony displays capabilities

Way back in May we started to bring you news about Google TV, an Android-based set-top box, which would be able to incorporate web services and also run Android apps on TV. Now we hear that at IFA 2010, Sony has released a video of the much-awaited innovation.

The video displays just some of the functions and potential of Google TV that users will be able to see when Sony release its Google TV-enabled televisions which will be out in the U.S. by the end of this year, according to Chris Ziegler over on Engadget. You can see the 2-minute video below this story.

Just some of the things the video shows are Google Maps, (awesome according to Engadget), web search, YouTube and popular apps. There’s also picture-in-picture which is bound to be an important and popular inclusion.
