Apple Event: iTunes samples may extend but no cloud music service

Everybody is anticipating what might happen at the Apple Event due to take place tomorrow, September 1, and the most prominent speculation is that the event will mostly be about the iPod Touch 4G. However now it seems we may also be receiving an announcement about iTunes.

It appears that the length of time you can hear a sample of a song on iTunes may be extended to double the amount of time, giving you a whole minute instead of only a 30 second taster, according to Stan Schroeder over on Mashable, sourced from Cnet. This would be a fantastic improvement as many people have long-complained that a 30-second snippet is just not long enough.

The sources say that a good part of the Apple Event will be Steve Jobs concentrating on what’s happening with improvements for iTunes, although it’s also being said that the Cloud music service that many people, including us, have spoken of, will not be unveiled as Apple has not obtained the licenses that would be needed yet.
