Samsung Galaxy S Power Pack: Why?

We recently gave you news of unlock codes for the Samsung Galaxy S and there’s more news today that may interest those of you with Samsung Galaxy S series phones as in a German newsletter the new Galaxy S Power Pack EBB-U10 has been revealed. It’s a pack designed for your Galaxy S with a battery extension that appears to house the entire phone.

Designed for those who use their phone all the time it adds 8.5 hours of talk time or 500 hours of stand-by time, according to Alex Smith on AndroidSpin. Although of course it adds bulk it’s the price you have to pay for more battery life, or is it?

Over on engadget an article by Thomas Ricker, sourced from Mobiflip, reminds us that the Galaxy S phones are actually designed with a user-replaceable battery that’s simple to remove and replace when you need more juice. Surely it’s easier to carry a spare battery than encase the whole of your mobile with the power pack.

It’s all rather intriguing and if you want to read more go to engadget.com or androidspin.com. You may also be interested in news of a White Samsung Galaxy S.
