Flixster Movie App At Top With 20 Million Downloads

Flixster, the movie app was first brought to our attention nearly 2 years ago and figures show that the app is still growing in popularity, in fact, it has recorded 20 million downloads. With it already available on the iPhone, it has now moved onto other platforms such as Android and BlackBerry.

According to MG Siegler at TechCrunch, the amazing figure that has been reached has incorporated at least 70% of active users in the past 90 days. Joe Greenstein, CEO of Flixster has commented that this is down to the closeness with popular movie review site “Rotten Tomatoes”. This in turn gives people the opportunity to find out what other users including friends think about a latest movie.

As well as Flixster enjoying their continuing success, they have been developing other devices as well. The iPad app has just seen 500,000 downloads and at least 5 visits per user per month. Along with this, users have become aware of the newest app for the “Roku Box”, and for “Sony Tvs”. CEO of Flixster said that this has pulled in 30,000 users in just 10 days.

In the future, it seems that we will have a lot to look forward to with Rotten Tomatoes 2.0 with improved features, and yet another 4 platforms later this year.
