Verizon To Launch New ZTE “Salute” Handset

Verizon have just launched their latest handset from manufacturers ZTE, named the “salute”. For those of you who may have been waiting to find out more info on this latest gadget including specs, this lightweight candybar shaped slider phone will be available online and in Verizon stores.

According to Andrew Munchbach at BGR, the Salute will be available for retail at $19.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate. New features include a 2.4 inch screen, 1.3 mega pixel camera, Bluetooth, VZ Navigator and accessibility to download games, ringtones, wallpapers and location-based services such as Foursquare and Gowalla.

The new Social Beat application allows the user to access sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace and an added benefit of keeping up to date with the latest news stories with 50 news, entertainment and sports via automatic feeds.

At the very small retail price being offered, this newest handset may appeal to a large number of people in the market for a new device.
