Twitter Feature for Panasonic Viera Cast Plasma HDTVs

It seems that the ever-growing popularity of Twitter knows no bounds and now there is news that electronics giant Panasonic have added Twitter as an extra feature on its Viera Cast-enabled HDTV’s. The plans were revealed back in January at the International Consumer Electronics Show and the activation of Twitter has now taken place.

Later on it will also be activated on Panasonic’s Viera Cast-enabled Blu-ray Disc Players, according to By Syahi over on Device Magazine. There are many other built-in web entertainment technologies on these Panasonic HDTV’s already and just some of them are Skype, NetFlix, and YouTube and now Twitter is added to the mix.

This makes technology readily available to the consumer, all while sat in front of the TV, enabling easier communication via Tweeting, video-chat and sharing videos on YouTube. It all begs the question of whether any of us will be using TV’s to actually watch broadcasts soon. Another feature of the Viera Cast-enabled HDTV’s is USB connectivity which allows for the addition of even more, such as a keyboard or USB memory.
