Facebook New Variations of Like Button: More seamless

Facebook, the social online networking site which has just celebrated user numbers in the region of 500 million, is in the process of testing a new version of the “Like” button that users can’t get enough of! It appears that the Like button has changed in appearance and colour.

When MG Siegler at TechCrunch reported, the Like button before had the number of people who clicked on an item contained outside the box and appeared to turn dark blue. Now with its new transformation, it has changed to the number of people on the right side of the actual button in its own smaller box with a light blue colour. Added benefits to this new version of the Like button include its similar size to the Buzz and new Tweet buttons and for users, it is now difficult to accidentally unlike something, the user has to hover over the thumb icon to bring up an undo arrow.

At this present stage, until more feedback from Facebook is received, it is difficult to comment on why some posts have the old button and some do not.

What do you think of the new Facebook change to the Like Button, do you think is really makes much difference? Feel free to leave us your comments. To read more on this and to look at the Like Buttons, check out TechCrunch
