Will Facebook Make Location Announcement Tomorrow?

It appears that Facebook will be making some sort of announcement tomorrow (Wednesday, August 18th), and rumors have been circulating online that suggest it may well be about the much-awaited location-based products that have been promised for quite some time.

According to Jolie O’Dell over at mashable.com, they have received an invitation to the Palo Alto campus, to get updated on Facebook’s products and features. Users are now of course waiting, to see whether or not Facebook’s geo-location offering will be unveiled tomorrow.

It definitely will be good news if that is the case, as it will substantiate all the “coming soon” rumors and quotes that we’ve been hearing for months. Back in May, the product’s release was said to be no more than 4 weeks away, but things didn’t quite work out that way.

The privacy changes appeared to put a hold on the location-based feature’s launch, along with several other projects that were in development. Then in June, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that they were just finishing designing it, and hoped to offer it soon.

So do you think they will be announcing their location-based products tomorrow, or could it be something entirely different? We’d be interested in hearing your thoughts.
