iPhone 4 and iPad China Release Date: September

It seems that China, a country where customers waited a long time to be able to buy the Apple iPhone legally, is in for some good news as the hugely popular iPhone 4 looks set to be on its way to the world’s largest mobile market.

An article by Stan Schroeder over on Mashable says that the delays in availability there were linked in some way to the fact that the Chinese national standard for wireless networking is WAPI and not Wi-Fi, but that the iPhone 3GS was finally offered to customers by China Unicom last month.

Now apparently an AFP report says that China Unicom is set to offer the iPhone 4 from as early as next month. China Unicom, a leader in telecoms in China, has not confirmed this yet but there are also rumors that the Apple iPad will be released from the company as well, although this is also not official yet and no date has been given.
