Samsung Galaxy S Review: Strengths outweigh the drawbacks

With more and more Android smartphones coming onto the market, it can be difficult at times to choose the best handset but now with the Samsung Galaxy S it might have made that decision a little easier! So will this handset do just as well as say the Apple iPhone 4?

When Chris Davies at SlashGear reported on this, the Samsung is geared up with some fantastic features such as being lightweight and slim to the touch, super 4 inch touch-screen AMOLED display, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, availability of 8 GB or 16 GB, Bluetooth, GPS, 2 cameras (one 5mp on the back as well as VGA front facing) 720p HD video recording and of course WiFi. For those of you who are not aware, the Galaxy S runs on Android 2.1.

On the downside to these super features, there is a small degree of negativity. When trying to open the email inbox ,view a certain message, delete an item or a message is unmarked as unread, the device at times has been known to seize up. As well as this, an added feature for users to access is the “Mini Diary” app. This allows journal entries with the advantage of having photos, weather information, text notes and so on, but unfortunately once they have been stored on there, there is no way of deleting them.

When looking at the overall Samsung Galaxy S device, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives! With its slim, lightweight feel, the touch-screen AMOLED display and impressive multimedia features are a must when looking to purchase this handset. It may not be an iPhone but its definitely stiff competition!

Would these new features sway you into changing your handset? Feel free to give us your comments. To check out more on this story log onto SlashGear
