With the official launch on 12 August of the new Motorola Droid 2, users will be wondering if the move from the old Droid will be wise. Reviews of the new handset have started to filter through and new and old features will have to be noted to make a comparison.

According to Bianca Bosker at The Huffington Post, when the two handsets were placed side by side, apart from the navigation pad and buttons, the two handsets were identical. The new Motorola Droid 2 incorporating a 3.7-inch screen is exactly the same in size as its predecessor. One main difference between the two, may be the Droid 2’s multi-touch capabilities.

The latest edition to Motorola comes with a much faster 1 Ghz processor, twice the amount of memory, both handsets comprise of a 5mp camera with LED flash, and both give the option of recording a video. Standby time has been greatly improved with this newest edition and users will gain the advantage of a new centred keyboard.
