Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Release Date, Specs and price

AT&T and Sony Ericsson have joined forces to create a “superphone” which will be known as the Xperia X10. The X10 is set to be released on August 15th and will be avaliable for $149.99 on a 2 year service agreement and data plan with AT&T.

Reports from Mashable tell us that the Xperia X10 will come with a 32GB memory, 1GHz processor and 8.1 megapixel camera. The X10 will also feature a nice big 4 inch screen and the UI itself is said to be impressive. It is not clear yet whether Xperia will ship with Android 2.1 or the sought after 2.2, which is also known as Froyo to some.

From the pictures we have seen of the device so far the design of the phone is slimline and black with very few buttons due to it being touchscreen. Overall the smartphone looks very slick, sexy and desirable. The new model will be Sony’s flagship device in the Android category, and will be the phone that competes with all of its other major rivals in the market such as HTC’s EVO.
