White iPhone 4 Release Date Delay: Bent frames

It’s been over a month since the release of the black iPhone 4, and consumers are still waiting for the white version of Apple’s Smartphone. It’s been pushed back twice now, and rumour has spread saying that the reason for the delay was that the white paint was flaking and causing all sorts of bother.

Kelly writes for intomobile.com saying that WhiteiPhone4Now reports that the delay is due to a manufacturing problem, and they have picture evidence of a white iPhone which has suffered from this problem. The iPhone in question has edges which are rough and bent, and these are not up to the standard that consumers expect.

According to the WhiteiPhone4Now blog, the manufacturing problem has been solved and the manufacturing process is back on track. Also, the site says that there is no sign of a fix to the antenna problem in the hardware whatsoever. The manufacturing problem has not been verified by anyone, and the images could have been photoshopped, so this could all be fake and we may still have to wait for the white iPhone.

We’re still waiting, but with the huge demand for the black iPhone 4 and the subsequent strain on the manufacturing chain, it could be a long time until users get their hands on the white iPhone 4. What do you think? Why does a simple colour change cause such a big delay? Let us know in the comments.
