BlackBerry Torch 9800 Slider on Vodafone UK

On Tuesday we reported on the recent launch of the new BlackBerry Torch 9800 slide phone. Good news for users of network “Vodafone”. It has been announced that they will sell the Torch 9800 handset in the UK and are happy for customers to pre-order. As of yet, indications have shown no fixed pricing structure and no contract details but the chances are, users will be subject to at least £40 a month to own this device.

According to Desire Athow at IT ProPortal, the BlackBerry Storm 2 is currently available at £35 per month and the arrival of the new Torch 9800 should not affect production of this handset. The Storm 2 will not be upgradeable to BlackBerry OS 6 according to RIM.

Although the latest iPhone 4 has had its problems as we have reported with antenna issues ,it still provides a more exciting upgrade option compared to the BlackBerry, but with iPhone’s pressure to put right the ever increasing problems with the reception issues, will BlackBerry manage to outdo its competitors?
