Blackberry Torch (9800) Release Date: Social Networking Capabilities

Great news for BlackBerry users! The newest device to be named the Torch 9800 has just been revealed. It will contain both a one touch-screen, and a external slide out QWERTY keyboard along with the latest operating system 6.0. As well as the touch-screen, the phone will boast an expanded messaging feature with social networking facilities to log you onto sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Icons will be provided which can be moved and customized.

According to Christine Persaud at market news, Research In Motion developers of the BlackBerry, have announced that the newest version to their range will also comprise of a keyboard equally balanced for typing, a track pad for the user to navigate different menus, a 5 MP camera with flash, users will have the ability to organise their photo gallery, WiFi and of course Bluetooth 2.1. The new Torch 9800 gives an impressive talk time lasting an impressive 5.8 hours, 30 hours of audio playback or 6 hours of video playback.

The Torch 9800 will be available in the U.S. on 12 August through AT&T retailing at $199.99.
