Microsoft Office for Mac 2011: Release date and price

Users will be pleased to learn that an announcement for the Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 with three versions in 13 languages is finally here. With a launch date of the end of October, U.S. stores will be retailing the new product for $119 for an individual install and for a Family Pack containing three instalments will retail for $149.

According to Ben Parr at Mashable, the Mac Version will make its debut in three different selections. The first being the Office for Mac Home and Student 2011, comprising of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Messenger, the second Office For Mac Home and Business 2011 and finally the Office for Mac Academic 2011.

Users will be pleased to hear that Office for Mac Home and Business 2011, although retailing at a slightly higher price will come with the addition of Outlook for Mac. This replaces the Entourage e-mail client which was originally released in 2000 as part of the Microsoft Office 2001 office suite; Office 98.
