Samsung Epic 4G Specifications List Confirms Rumors

Sprint is about to launch its second smartphone that can access the 4G data network – the Samsung Epic 4G. This latest handset from Samsung shows that they can up their game when needed, and looking at the recently released full specifications sheet – we can see it has a lot to offer.

We already knew that the cell phone was to come with Android 2.1 out the box, and that Android 2.2 Froyo update would follow later this year. What we still do not know is what the price or release date will be, but Debbie Turner from Only Kent has learned that it could be August 20th – this has yet to be confirmed.

So let us take a look at some of those specs that BGR was able to get his hands on via sdx.developers.com. As expected most of the rumors were right and the Samsung Epic 4G will be powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird CPU as well as that 4-inch screen, which is a little smaller than the HTC EVO 4G – although just as impressive.

The 5-megapixel camera is a bit of a letdown, it would have been so much better with an 8-megapixel version – although the 720P video recording will be a welcome feature to those who shoot movies while out and about.

Take a look at the full spec list from sdx.developers.com, who has also put the Samsung Epic 4G against a few other Sprint handsets.

Are you impressed with the features?
