Web Design and Development: List of resources
Web design is definitely a fast-growing industry. After all, every type of business is in need of a good quality website nowadays. From large agency level web designers to freelancers who are looking to develop small-business websites from home, there’s plenty of opportunities.
However, if you have little or no experience of creating websites, you might not know where to start. An interesting article by Brian Casel over at mashable.com may well be able to help you, as it provides a list of over 40 resources to help you in web design and development.
The first resource that jumped out at me is a website called A List Apart, which is a site all about web design with the focus being on web standards. Another excellent resource that provides web development tutorials is a website called Net Tuts.
You’ll also need a graphics program, and Adobe Photoshop has been the champion of web design, photo editing and print design for a long time. However, Adobe Fireworks is a popular alternative. Adobe Fireworks is intended to be used specifically for web design.
