Social Network Trailer vs. Other Movie Versions of Sites

Social networking website Facebook has become so popular, that they have even made a movie about it – “The Social Network.” If you haven’t already heard about the movie, it tells the story of how Mark Zuckerberg came up with the idea while still at college.

With all the hype surrounding the Facebook movie, it kind of makes you think what other movies about other websites would be like, if they were to be made. An interesting (and rather amusing) article on techradar.com by Gary Marshall takes a look at some of the scenarios.

For example, the article takes a look at what a movie about Google would be like. Their take on it says that it would be two and a half hours of adverts and pictures of kittens, punctuated at random intervals by a man that is screaming: “WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!”

Another example they gave is a movie about eBay, which the article says would be a nail-biting thriller directed by Michael eBay!! (ha ha) This they say would feature a mobile phone, a mysterious bidder and the entire population of Nigeria – oh and some unnecessary explosions.
