Panasonic LX5 release date and specs comparison

The Panasonic LX3 was a favorite for many camera users but it did have its share of problems, and the new Panasonic LX5 compact camera aims to deal with the issues. The design of the two cameras is pretty much the same, but the LX5 has a few important improvements.

According to CNET, the LX5 had it’s specs leaked to the official website, which seems to be getting old these days, and normally gives brands a little boost via online hype. Changes in the LX5 include a better video codec, improved noise reduction, larger zoom range, and a new sensor.

CNET has listed a nice comparison of the Panasonic LX5 specs to main competitors; you can see this list in their article here. They explain each of the changes and why they are important to enthusiasts.

The Lumix DMC-LX5 will have a release date in August 2010, and will be available in both black and white. Have a look at the full specs and comparison, and let us know your thoughts on this new compact.
