FaceTime Portrait from Twitter bird designer

If you’ve ever fancied a digital image that’s really unique, to use for anything that you want a picture of yourself for, no end of possibilities, then here’s something that could really interest you. How about your own personalized avatar? Trust me this is a really impressive idea and many of you will want one when you find out more.

An article over on Mashable by Christina Warren, sourced from Wired, check out her own avatar, tells us of a venture from artist David Lanham, a designer from the Iconfactory. You may think you’ve never heard his name but one of his works is now one of the world’s most recognized images, as he is responsible for Ollie, the Twitter bird. Lanham’s misfortune may be your opportunity as currently he has to stay home as he is off work after an injury.

So, to keep himself busy he’s launched a service where he will connect with you over FaceTime and from that experience alone, will create a unique digital picture of you. All this for only $50 which actually appears inexpensive to me, bearing in mind you will have an exclusive design. His service is called FaceTime Portrait and you can also connect with David Lanham on his Twitter here.

For more on this go to mashable.com. We’ve taken a look at some of the images and I for one am sorely tempted to get one of these exceptional avatars. Take a look and tell us what you think and if you decide to get one of your own. We’d love to take a look at your comments.
