Earthquake Hits Maryland: Twitter Updates

An earthquake with a 3.6-magnitude has hit near Gaithersburg, Maryland this morning, which is 20 miles northwest of Washington. It is reported that this is the largest in the region since 1974 with over 5,000 residents of Maryland saying that they felt the shake.

As you would imagine residents have taken to Twitter to talk about the earthquake. Some of the tweets explain about the last time that an earthquake hit the area, where others were saying how unpredictable it all was.

Some thought that it was an explosion of some sort, thankfully LA Times reports that there have been no injuries or damage to buildings. View Twitter updates
