Larry King Live Ending: Social web responds

American talk show host Larry King has made an announcement to the world recently, that he will be ending his long-running CNN show, “Larry King Live.” As you can very well imagine, the news about him ending the show has created a stir on the social web.

According to Jolie O’Dell at mashable.com, “Larry King Live” hold the Guinness World Record for being the longest-running show with the same host in the same time-slot. In fact, Larry King’s show has been a regular feature on air for a total of 25 years now.

Larry King – who said: It’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders” – has been in professional broadcasting for a total of 53 years and during that time, he has conducted over 40,000 interviews with topical experts, politicians, celebrities, and many others.

King’s name was being highly searched this afternoon, following his announcement. And on the popular microblogging site Twitter, mentions of King were popping up all over the world. It just shows what an impact such simple news can have on the social web.
