Google Me vs. Facebook

It looks like the popular social networking site Facebook could well be facing some very stiff competition soon, in the form of the “Google Me” service. Well, that is if we want to believe the recent rumors that have been reported by Digg founder Kevin Rose on Twitter.

According to Jeremy A. Kaplan at foxnews.com, a brief post on Twitter by the well-connected founder of the Digg tech news website has now got the rumor mill churning, about a “Google Me” service being in the works – a possible competitor for Facebook.

The post – which he posted Saturday night – read: “Huge rumor: Google to launch Facebook competitor very soon “Google Me,” very credible source.” While Rose may be well known for spreading rumors, he’s also known for getting things right too.

Unfortunately, a Facebook spokesman refused to comment on the current speculation, and Google was equally as reluctant to discuss the reports. But despite there being a lack of information, experts say that there’s every reason to believe the rumors.
