Twimbow web-based Twitter client: Filters Tweets

While some people don’t really bother with applications on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, others really love them and accept them all. And for those of you who love new apps, you might like to know about Twimbow – a web-based Twitter client that filters tweets.

According to Jolie O’Dell at mashable.com, the Twimbow interface may remind you of Seesmic Web and Tweetdeck at first glance. In fact, the feature sets are almost identical, although Tweetdeck and Seesmic having the advantages of stability, age and a more thorough toolbelt.

However, the main distinction with the Twimbow app is its bright and shiny interface, which allows you to assign a different color to different users and groups. It even lets you change the color of a tweet shown in the app, by simply adding a #color tag. You can then sort and filter tweets by color.

All your DMs, conversations, favorites and retweets are then contained in a single column: the colored filters do all the sorting for you. Another great thing is that it allows you to turn certain people or “colors” on and off whenever you like. What do you think of this new app?
