This Thursday June 24 2010, sees the launch of the new iPhone 4, but customers can expect a special treat on Monday in the form of the iOS 4 update. Customers can look forward to varying options which include, involve multi-tasking (or background tasks). With an instruction from Apple, developers have had to submit their iOS 4-ready app and it appears that this has been carried out.
According to M G Siegler at TechCrunch, the distinctive feature that all of these apps share between them, is the ability to do fast app switching. Apple have allowed third-party apps to do certain functions in the background, hence creating an easy and fast way for all apps to save their states, this then allows for fast app switching. To give a simpler understanding, this means that if apps get paused and put in the background, there is the function to come back to them when you are ready.
For customers to explore these options, they need to know what there is available at this time. Examples of current apps include, the Evernote, this is the latest version of the (3.3.5) giving strong support to the iOS 4, the Dropbox (1.2.2), Zagat To Go and the LinkedIn, the latest version of the app (3.1.1) are all available options.
iPhone 4 users have a great deal to look forward to. Not only are there the current apps in place, but new iOS 4 apps are on the horizon. The Loopt, Pandora, Twitterrific 3, the Navigon, Foursquare, How to Cook Everything and the NY Times can all be enjoyed.
