Facebook’s 2010 Revenue: Made a solid net profit

Online media giants Facebook has turned nearly $800 million revenue in 2009. Reuters commented that they have turned most of this into a solid net profit. Earlier predictions estimated the number as being close to $500 million so this has to be noticed by other online social media forums. Projected numbers in revenue for 2010 are hoped to reach $170 million.

According to Mashable, Facebook are yet to comment on this, and sources feel that Facebook would prefer to downplay their performance instead of building up their reputation for what could be a fall.

If these figures are true, then Facebook should feel proud of their achievements, despite being in the media for privacy-related scandals that had site founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, apologizing for their mistakes.

If Facebook can continue to grow and bring in more revenue, then in time it will be able to experiment with privacy and the boundaries surrounding it without complications.
