Spotify: New Social Networking Features And Facebook Integration

Spotify, the music streaming startup is now following in the footsteps of so many other services, they will be going social. Spotify have unveiled a range of new features, which is to be called Spotify Music Pro@ile’. The one thing that you need to know about this range of new features is that Spotify will now become a true social network site.

OK, we are being a bit too generous there, as the upstart will still have to rely on integrating Facebook Connect features. The service will now be able to synchronize your current music collection to your Spotify account. TechCrunch reported that these new features went live yesterday in the UK.

The update from Facebook is considered a huge deal, and they have launched a number of other features – all of which were announced at last week’s Facebook F8 Conference. There still remains one problem with this tight integration with Spotify – where is the U.S. launch.

The feature of being able to share your music playlist is being welcomed by Spotify users, but TechCrunch worries that there could be a few problems. How upset are you that this new service is only available in a few European markets?
