Twitter and MySpace: Big Changes

There is no denying how popular Twitter is right now, but those in charge feel the need for change- something that MySpace should have done a long time ago. Many of us know about the book “Who Moved my Cheese”, Twitter has taken this advice early, but MySpace has to face the facts that its cheese has now gone stale.

Ben Parr from Mashable managed to locate a teaser shot of the new Twitter interface, which Twitter’s design team were only too happy to show them. The image does not give much away, but we can see that the profiles have been given an overhaul.

As for MySpace, The Age reports that the new overhaul of this social network site will go live in the spring, they hope that they will be able to regain its position in this market and get back a few users from Facebook in the process.

MySpace currently has 100 million users, compared to 400 million on Facebook. The new look MySpace is said to have more focus on gaming and music, two of our biggest pastimes. The social network site also aims to break into new markets, such as South Africa, perfect timing as the World Cup is coming up.

Do you think a revamp will make you go back to MySpace?
