Twitter Goes Mad for Tiger at the U.S. Masters

The big news on Tiger Woods at the moment is his return to the golf tour in the U.S. Masters at Augusta National, following his recent sex scandal. It’s apparent that his fans have certainly not deserted him, and in practice rounds earlier this week, Woods noted that by acknowledging his fans with a nod and a wave.

It merely seems a shame that he couldn’t have done that before his indiscretions but its clear how popular Tiger Woods still is if you take a look at what happened during the press conference for the Masters on Monday. In the one-hour event there were 11,000 logged comments on Twitter about Woods.

There have even been huge crowds drawn to the practice rounds, to see the man in action again. ESPN and CBS are expecting record audiences of up to 20 million and just how much of that is due to Woods re-appearance is anyone’s guess, but mine is that it’s quite a hefty proportion.
