Social Media Marketing Strategy: 16 Do’s and Don’ts

This list of 16 do’s and don’ts could prove to be extremely valuable for your social media marketing campaign, therefore we will highlight some of the vital points raised.

One of the biggest do’s is to interact with your social network, this does two things, it assures you that followers and fans are legit, and ensures that you that anything you tweet/post is actually being read.

One often overlooked ‘do’ is to become part of micro-communities relevant to your business, this could promote your social network to the intended audience and people in high places.

There are also a few important don’ts which you should follow, one of the most important things is to not spam, if you spam on your social profiles followers and fans will quickly become bored of your repetitive updates, this will no doubt result in people no longer following your Twitter / Facebook profile.

You must not ever leave your social profiles ‘dead’, if you do not update your profile people will no longer see the point in following you, therefore at least try and tweet one time a day, just to stay fresh.

Finally you should not use marketing tactics too blatantly, experts believe that a subtle marketing campaign will have a better impact on your social profile and business than a blatant marketing campaign.
