New 2010 iPhone: 4G, iGroups Patent and Social Networking

Apple knows that social media is about to move up a gear – which is why the current iPhone and maybe the rumored iPhone 4G / HD will come with ‘iGroups’ application. While digging, PatentlyApple noticed that Apple has applied for a new patent, Product-reviews has been explaining just how the technology will work.

It is assumed that the new feature will be used solely on the iPhone. But it is possible that the service could work on MobileMe. Looking closely at the iGroups patent, it looks as though you will be able to keep in contact with your group of friends by using a live hub.

This will handle all messages that you send – offering you one place to read them for easy access.

Things get a little bit sketchy on the details, but PatentlyApple tell us that iGroups will use a new technology that uses a cryptographic key generation system – so all your data will be kept in a secure and safe place.
