AITP: New Wave of Social Media Tools – Risks and Benefits

We have hit on the subject how social media will be used more and more, not only in everyday life but in the corporate world and information technology (IT) professional as well. The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) is to study how social media tools can be used in this field.

AITP are to hold a meeting called “Social Media Networking and Marketing” at Melville, NY on Tuesday, March 23. The speakers have already been finalized and will start at 11 am to 2 pm.

As with all new technology there is always a fear, this gathering will look at the risks and benefits of social media. Speakers will go much deeper than the usual things discussed – instead looking at the security and technical issues that IT staff often face.
