CEO of social networking platform Ning, is stepping down

We have recently heard the news that the CEO of the popular social networking platform Ning will be stepping down, Gina Bianchini has had a successful time at Ning, however she will soon become the executive in residence at Andreessen Horowitz.
Ning was co-founded by Marc Andreessen and Gina Bianchini, Bianchini has now been with the company five and a half years, it is understood that Ning fully support Bianchini’s decision.

At the time of Bianchini’s decision Ning had 45 million reistered users world-wide, these users were active across 2.3 million user created Ning Networks.
Other statistics regarding the site are also very impressive, on average 5,000 new Ning Networks are created each day, also apparently each 12 days there are another million registered users.
Despite Gina’s decision to step-down from Ning she will still be working closely with Marc Andreessen, she will be the Executive in Residence at Andreessen’s new venture capital firm (Andreessen Horrowitz), also as Bianchini has shares in Ning she will be keeping a close eye on how the company develops.
