Diamond Apple iPad

I’ve heard of some ridiculously expensive products before, but never one as bad as the new diamond-coated Apple iPad from Mervis Diamond importers. For all the people who pre-ordered an ordinary Apple iPad last week, their soon-to-be new toys may look pale in comparison.

According to engadget.com, the extra special (and extremely expensive) iPad is said to set you back $19,999. This is because it’s been coated with 11.43 carats of G/H color diamonds, rated VS2/SI1 for clarity. Personally I can’t see the point in it, but obviously somebody will.

This new iPad is just the latest in a very long line of ridiculously expensive gadgets that have been made more luxurious – many of them being from Apple. The question is though: would you actually want an Apple iPad that is coated with diamonds? Because I know I wouldn’t.
