Twitter Tells Chile Earthquake Story

The news of the earthquake in Chile that measured a magnitude-8.8 has been spreading around social media network sites at a surprising rate. The event took place early yesterday morning and there were fears that a Tsunami could take place in the Pacific Ocean.

Those who reside in Chile have been sending their photos of the devastation caused on Twitter and Twitpic; it is assumed that more than 200 people have died following the earthquake. Chilean Twitter users have been sending their comments in about the state of their neighborhoods.

If you visit Mashable, you will see some of the photos that users have been sending in. You can see that the damage caused is nothing like it was in Haiti, but any loss of life is sad news. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to those who have lost a loved one.
